Responding to the Refugee Crisis

As the war in Ukraine continues, several million people have fled that nation, with the majority traveling to neighboring Poland.

Prologis doesn’t have any property in Russia or Ukraine. But we have a large presence in other Eastern and Central European nations, including Poland. Many of our employees – in Europe and beyond – have family and friends who have been impacted by the war.

As the refugee population grows, many of the charitable organizations serving them are asking if we have available space to help store goods. Through our company’s Space for Good program, we are offering available space free of charge to various nonprofit organizations and local authorities.

We’ve invited our employees to support the Red Cross’ Ukrainian refugee relief efforts and committed to a corporate match of $2 for every $1 our employees donate. Since the war in Ukraine began, Prologis has given more than $400,000 USD in employee donations, including company match.

Germany Team Collects Donations in Kind

In addition to corporate donations, the Prologis team in Germany is currently organizing other fundraising activities. Our employees in the offices in Hamburg, Munich, Berlin and Düsseldorf are collecting donations in kind, which we pass on to local organizations.

The first donations went to the Hispi association in Düsseldorf, which works for the linguistic integration of refugees on a voluntary basis. Together with the city of Düsseldorf, Hispi is also currently coordinating donation acceptance at the city's donation distribution center in order to provide refugees from Ukraine with essential goods, toys, etc.

We hope the people of Ukraine are able to return to a peaceful and free life and nation. We stand with them.
