The Logix Award 2021 goes to our team in Germany! This year, the Initiative Logistikimmobilien chose Prologis Park Datteln in the northern Ruhr region as the award-worthy project. We completed the speculative development in September 2020 with a total of 27,800 square meters built according to the WELL Building Standard. With this innovative facility, we prevailed against approximately 20 competitors who also submitted projects for the competition.
The Logix Award was presented by the Initiative Logistikimmobilien on 11 October 2021 at Expo Real in Munich. Nicoline Dechamps, director, capital deployment Germany, accepted the award. “We are very pleased to receive this award,” she says. “Employee well-being is at the heart of Prologis Park Datteln. The facility’s people-centered approach can help our customers find skilled professionals and contributes to lasting improvement in their well-being. With this approach, we create added value for our customers and partners. It is great that we, as a team in Germany, are now holding this award in our hands for the second time. It confirms that our innovative and sustainable approach is not only in line with the recent trends, but also with the trends of the future.”
Our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Datteln is the first in Germany to meet all the conditions of the WELL Building Gold Standard, which is based on findings from medical research. Among other things, the building has facilities to monitor air quality and reduce noise levels. The building features indoor greenery, drinking water dispensers and a “living zone” with a special lighting and ventilation concept for employees. The facility is certified according to DGNB Platinum. Online retailer Euziel has used the logistics facility as a base for Europe-wide transports since September 2020.
In 2019, we won the same award for our carbon-neutral logistics center for L'Oréal in Muggensturm, Germany.

About the Logix Award
The Initiative Logistikimmobilien presents the Logix Award every two years for outstanding logistics real estate and traditionally awards the prize in a ceremony at Expo Real. The jury includes architects, building planners, scientists, logistics property users and self-developers, as well as representatives of real estate and logistics media.
