When Media-Concept needed a new distribution center, it sought a long-term partner that could provide support at every step—from customized property development to property management. Itchose Prologis to find a suitable location and develop a new facility with a level of functionality unavailable at its prior location in Munich.
Prologis developed a 5,400 square meter build-to-suit logistics property in Augsburg and customized the facility to meet the requirements of Media-Concept. The online retailer appreciates the much-needed expansion opportunities and operational optimization that Prologis Park Augsburg offers. Construction of the new facility began in October 2015 and was completed in March 2016.
In total, Prologis Park Augsburg covers 93,000 square meters—of which 49,000 square meters are dedicated to distribution and storage that is divided into three distribution centers and used by different customers. The construction of multiple logistics units allows Prologis to respond to current business developments in a flexible manner.
Another advantage of this development is its location in the Augsburg freight hub, which links to the A8 motorway and the B2 and B17 main roads with DHL freight infrastructure only a few minutes away by car.
