Support for homeschooling: On March 3, 2021, Prologis donated 20,500 euros (approximately $25,000) to the children's aid center Kinderhilfezentrum Düsseldorf as part of the Dock Doors of Giving campaign. The donation check was presented in front of Düsseldorf City Hall in compliance, of course, with current pandemic rules of conduct. Dr. Stephan Keller, mayor of Düsseldorf, and Judith Knuff, director of the Kinderhilfezentrum Düsseldorf, accepted the symbolic check from Björn Thiemann, senior vice president, country manager Germany at Prologis. Burkhard Hintzsche, Düsseldorf city manager, also attended the ceremony.

"I am delighted that companies like Prologis are open to make a social commitment in Düsseldorf," says mayor Dr. Stephan Keller. "This is a true declaration of belief in Düsseldorf as a location, a true declaration of belief in the city. But most of all, I'm happy for the children who will benefit from the equipment that can be purchased with it." The donation will be used to support homeschooling for children living in residential groups run by the Kinderhilfezentrum. “The current pandemic presents the children and adolescents in the Kinderhilfezentrum with many challenges in their everyday school life,” says Judith Knuff. “With the donation from Prologis, we will be able to provide them with state-of-the-art equipment that will enable them to participate in school lessons.”

Part of the Community
With the Dock Doors of Giving campaign, Prologis is committed to local communities and good causes throughout Europe. “Our German headquarters are in Düsseldorf, so we feel a special connection with the city,” says Thiemann. “We see ourselves as part of the community and want to get involved, take responsibility and provide sustainable support for the people here. Above all, the needs of many children come up short during this pandemic. Therefore, we hope to make homeschooling a little easier for some young people with our donation.”
