Dusseldorf, with almost 636.000 inhabitants, is the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, the most densely populated federal state. The metropolitan area along the rivers Rhine and Ruhr has 10 million inhabitants. Some 155 million people, 31 percent of the total population of the European Union, live within a 500-kilometer radius of Dusseldorf.

These 155 million people also account for 50 percent of the EU's purchasing power and represent a robust consumption market. More than 100,000 companies are based in the Dusseldorf economic area, with 39,000 in the city area alone. The region is home to many international companies, especially in the industrial, commerce and service sectors.

Dusseldorf is a successful business center in the heart of Europe. The city offers excellent accessibility because of its comprehensive transport infrastructure: an international airport, four Rhine ports for cargo handling (Duisburg, Krefeld, Neuss and Dusseldorf), and several motorways and railway stations. Duisburg, the largest German inland port with an annual cargo load of 110 million tons, can be reached from Dusseldorf in 25 minutes.

Dusseldorf occupies a leading position in Europe for foreign direct investments. For many years, the city has been the most important control center in Europe for Japan.

Prologis operates numerous industrial properties and warehouses in Dusseldorf.
