We are aware that land resources are finite, which is why we operate in a sustainable manner and focus on being a good neighbor. We also realize that municipalities need to find the right projects for their vacant properties. With Prologis as your partner, you work with a company that plans for the future and shares your concerns. We remain long-term owners of our buildings and have a strong interest in ensuring that the companies and municipalities we work with are a good match—with benefits for both sides. Customers from a wide variety of industries remain loyal to our properties and us for many years.
Logistics adds value. In order to integrate logistics centers into a municipality, we invest in infrastructure where necessary. We also focus on brownfield developments in order to prevent impacting undeveloped land. Municipalities benefit in three ways: new employment opportunities for the region, demolition of unwanted buildings and revitalized properties. We maintain a continuous dialogue with cities and municipalities—listening, understanding and compromising are in our DNA.
We manage every aspect of a project for our customers. With teams of logistics experts, project managers, engineers and property managers, we offer our customers a complete solution for logistics facilities. This includes finding a suitable location, creating customized traffic plans, developing logistics buildings and property management.
We value your opinion because you know which industries are best for your municipality. From in-depth discussions with you, we learn what is important for your municipality when it comes to developing a logistics facility. Transparency is critical to us. We work with our stakeholders as partners, and we value fair treatment. We are your direct point of contact during all stages of the project. Whether prior to the start of construction, during construction or even after the official opening, municipality’s representatives can contact us at anytime.
Prologis develops a carbon-neutral logistics facility in Muggensturm, Germany, for the cosmetics manufacturer L'Oréal. Upon completion, the facility will comprise around 101,000 square meters of logistics space. Dietmar Späth, mayor of the municipality of Muggensturm, talks about the cooperation with Prologis.
What was the cooperation between Prologis and the community like?
Why is it important for communities and developers to work closely together?
Prologis develops logistics facilities for different industries based on specific needs. This approach benefits our customers, municipalities and surrounding regions. We create places for people to work, and we invest in municipal infrastructure where necessary. Revitalizing old industrial sites allows us to build logistics buildings without developing new sites. Our sample projects provide an excellent overview of Prologis’ commitment to the municipalities in which we are active.
