Prologis laid the cornerstone for a carbon-neutral logistics center for L'Oréal in Muggensturm, near Karlsruhe, and filmed the occasion. The video offers insights into the April 11 event and is documented by people involved in the project. Thomas Karmann, managing director, regional head Northern Europe, talks about the relevance of the development to Prologis in Europe. Fabrice Megarbane, managing director of L'Oréal Germany; Dietmar Späth, mayor of the municipality of Muggensturm; and other key figures also discuss the project and their partnerships with Prologis.

Once completed, the logistics facility will cover an area of around 101,000 square meters and meet high environmental standards. Both the construction and operation of the building are designed to be carbon neutral.

Prologis purchased 17 hectares in January 2018 and re-purposed what had previously been used as agricultural land into an industrial estate in close collaboration with the municipality of Muggensturm. L’Oréal plans to supply its markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from the site. The new distribution center will be the largest of the L’Oréal Group worldwide.
